DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid), commonly known as “Gold of Brain” is an essential polyunsaturated fatty acid for the human body. As an important component of the brain and retina, DHA has a content of up to 20% in the human cerebral cortex, which is extremely beneficial to the growth and development of brain nerve conduction and synapses. Therefore, DHA has always been used in brain development products for fetuses and infants, but its significant role in protecting against cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases has been forgotten. In fact, DHA is also known as the "protection god" for patients with hyperlipidemia and hypertension. In the production of DHA, studies have shown that microalgae are the true synthesizers of DHA. Today, China's research on utilizing microalgae to develop DHA is almost synchronized with Europe and the United States. Among them, Professor Chen Feng, an outstanding representative figure in the field of global microalgae research and an academician of the American Academy of Medicine and Biological Engineering as well as the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, has made the most prominent contributions. In 2000, Professor Chen Feng guided Guangdong Runke Bioengineering Co., Ltd. to successfully utilize biological fermentation technology in China, making Runke become the second enterprise in the world to successfully realize the industrialization of microalgae DHA.
As a leading enterprise in domestic algal oil DHA in China, Runke has also begun research on high-content algal oil DHA in the field of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Recently, Runke newly developed the first domestic high-content algal oil DHA functional product for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular patients, Runke "Shuxintong".
