On February 23, 2020, Runke donated a total of 2 million yuan worth of DHA nutrition products through the Charitable Association of Longhu District, Shantou City, to two medical institutions in Shantou that were the first to admit COVID-19 patients - Shantou Central Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College. On February 14, the National Health Commission issued the Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Severe and Critical Cases of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Trial Version 2), incorporating enteral nutrition formulations containing Omega-3 fatty acids as one of the treatment measures for severe COVID-19 patients. It recommended using DHA and EPA as parenteral nutrition supplements to help the immune system function properly.
